Investigative Analyst

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Compiling and preparing statistical warrant reports to verify the accuracy of NCIC reports and makes necessary corrections. Verifying accuracy and initiating actions requested once criminal writs, court orders, judgment and commitment orders, detainers, etc. are received. Reviewing summaries of information pertaining to subjects of recently opened investigations to determine and complete administrative actions required. Researching, analyzing, and evaluating data received to make appropriate recommendations. Monitoring detainers to ensure the prisoner has not been released or moved and the status of the prisoner has not changed. Providing assistance to attorneys, agents, prisoner family members, etc., regarding inquiries about prisoners. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
To qualify for the GS-9 level, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that included:
1) gathering and analyzing various types of data from Federal, state, local and public agencies; 2) monitoring, evaluating and coordinating a variety of warrants (i.e., for escape prisoners, parole and probation, bond defaults, etc.); 3) assisting criminal investigators by coordinating investigative efforts; 4) utilizing a variety of law enforcement related databases to obtain, monitor and update appropriate information for investigations, warrants, prisoner data, etc. (Must be reflected in resume.) OR Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Criminal Justice, Psychology, Homeland Security, etc. (Must submit transcripts.) OR Possess a combination of education and experience as listed above. To determine your combination, first compute your experience as a percentage of the experience listed in above; then determine your education as a percentage of the education listed above; then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used in calculation. (Must be reflected in resume. Must submit transcripts.) Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
